Florida’s Healthy Babies focuses on positive health outcomes and reducing the rate of infant mortality in minority populations.

Though Florida has experienced declining morbidity and mortality rates, disparities persist. The Department is committed to eliminating these differences. Florida Healthy Babies represents the collective strength of partners and individuals working together to improve the health and well-being of all Floridians.

As of 2016, Columbia County's infant mortality rates were 9.9 deaths per 1,000 live births (2016, FL CHARTS). Columbia County had a total of 23 infant deaths between 2014 and 2016. Florida Health Babies in Columbia County is working to decrease the risks that lead to infant deaths.
